Democrats Have Created Scores of First-Time Trump Voters

Parents, sports fans, new gun owners, and more have plenty of reasons to go red this time around.

The Democrat Party has chosen the wrong side of several crucial issues in 2020. For that they will pay a high price.

They have inadvertently created several groups of first-time Trump voters.

One such group is parents of school children. In part because of fealty to teachers unions, Democrats have strongly resisted fully reopening public schools. As a result, millions of parents have become involuntary home-schoolers. It would only be natural for these parents to lean toward President Trump, whose Secretary of Education has been vocal in her support for fully reopening all schools.

Also ripe for becoming first-time Trump voters are millions of people who are fed up with other coronavirus lockdowns, where draconian mask mandates have become irresistible opportunities for petty tyrants and busybodies to lord it over their fellow citizens.

In her 1902 book The Open Door, Helen Keller wrote, “Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

Joe Biden loves masks and is seldom seen without one. President Trump rarely wears one. Mask haters will not miss either message.

Turning to “fracking,” President Trump expresses his enthusiastic support for it at almost every one of his rallies. Joe Biden is for or against it depending on his audience.

If fracking were prohibited, gasoline and natural gas prices would double. Fracking has allowed the U.S. to be energy independent for the first time in decades, freeing us from unfriendly and unreliable foreign countries. Voters aware of those benefits will gravitate in droves toward Trump.

Professional sports leagues, especially the NFL and NBA, are busy self-annihilating. Viewership for the NBA finals is down 48 percent from a year ago and the lowest since records have been kept. Sunday night NFL ratings are down 39 percent. Most of their millions of fans simply do not want athletes and craven franchise owners to sermonize them. Anyone who loves this country detests seeing players insult the flag and national anthem.

Donald Trump has been a staunch critic of such behavior, even being against having an NFL season at all if players were going to kneel. In contrast, Democrats have joined the kneelers in boosting Black Lives Matter. Nationwide polls indicate collapsing support for BLM. That could translate into millions more first-time Trump voters.

In the first six months of this year five million Americans bought guns for the first time, largely in response to Democrat-enabled riots and support of defunding the police. In each successive month, the number of new gun owners broke the previous month’s record. Those five million new Second Amendment supporters are highly unlikely to vote for Joe Biden. They alone could swing the election to Trump.

If the above political undercurrents generate enough first-time Trump voters, he will not be the only candidate to benefit. To the Democrats’ dismay, there will be significant “down-ballot” repercussions throughout the country. __________________

The First Perfect Generation

The advantage of wokeness: you’re morally superior to everyone who has ever lived.

Someone on Twitter wrote recently, “History is not something to like or dislike. It is something to learn from.”

We are living in a time of history rejection. The statue destroyers hate history. Their grievance against Washington, Lincoln, Columbus, and others is that none of them was perfect.

Here’s the problem with judging someone using a standard of perfection — perfection does not exist in individuals or in society. It never has, and it never will. Counting on something that does not exist guarantees failure.

In debates Milton Freidman would sometimes ask, “What perfect solution on what perfect planet are you comparing this to?”

The statue destroyers ignore fundamental principles of justice. They find people guilty of violating standards that did not exist during the eras in which they lived.

Where does this stop?

No one is detached from the times in which he lives. None of us is saintly enough to create his own stand-alone morality. No flesh-and-blood participant in society is strong enough or smart enough to do that. How many times has it happened in the history of civilization? It would not require all the fingers on one hand to count them.

Attempting to erase evidence that Abraham Lincoln existed is fruitless. It may temporarily suppress history, but it does not make history go away. If the Washington Monument is destroyed, George Washington will remain the father of our country. Should our Constitution, as great a creation of mankind that has ever existed, be abolished because some of its authors owned slaves?

Our Founding Fathers had shortcomings. So did all other past human beings. They were not perfect, and neither are we. Judging them solely on the basis of their flaws is absurd. Victor Davis Hanson has pointed out that we are judging historical figures on the basis of their worst traits while ignoring their best traits and accomplishments.Jordan Peterson’s sixth rule of his 12 Rules for Life is “Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world.”

Jesus put it this way: “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam from thine own eye; and then thou wilt see clearly to cast out the speck from thy brother’s eye.”

Do the statue destroyers have their own houses in perfect order? They apparently consider themselves the first perfect generation in human history. Have they actually achieved perfection, or have they merely surpassed all previous levels of arrogance?

Somehow, they always know what he’s thinking.

The intense hatred Democrats feel toward Donald Trump puzzles conservatives. What about him is so hate-worthy? Why such unrelenting intensity?

Trump haters possess a certain talent: an ability to read Donald Trump’s mind. What they see is not pretty. They know that Trump is a racist because they can scrutinize his thoughts.

Trump haters, with their sixth sense, know that when Donald Trump says words like “wall” or “travel ban” he isn’t using them according to the standard dictionary definitions, but as code words, or “dog-whistles.”

Thus it’s not really his words or his actions that generate the strongest hatred toward Donald Trump, it’s his thoughts. His thoughts are bigoted and despicable and he can’t hide them.

Trump haters all possess hate filters, but not the usual kind that filter out hate, rather ones that filter out everything that is not hate. For them, hating Trump is the key to deciphering his thoughts.

It follows that whenever Trump holds an opinion different from the haters it officially becomes a lie once he expresses it. Thus, the Washington Post calculates that he has told 19,128 false and misleading claims since taking office, roughly 15 lies a day, seven days a week, including vacations. Identifying and documenting all those lies would exhaust normal people, but not Trump haters.

The haters understand that Trump is psychologically incapable of doing anything good. Seeing his innermost thoughts, they know that once he touches something it turns bad.

The motto of the Trump haters is “Resist and Persist.” They’ve been religiously true to that motto for more than four years now. Their commitment is impressive. Credit mental telepathy for that.

“Does it have water?” That’s what astronomers ask first when they discover a new planet. Why does that matter? No water, no life.

Earth is the water planet. Seventy-one percent of its surface is submerged. Most animals, including you, are 60 percent water.

Water increases the Earth’s beauty, particularly in combination with other features of the physical world:

• Clouds — water vapor with sunlight
• Snow — water at low temperatures
• Mountain streams — water, rocks, elevation differences, and gravity
• Waterfalls — rivers, streams, cliffs, and gravity
• Sunsets — clouds, sunlight, and planetary rotation
• Surf — water, wind, and land-wave collisions
• Rainbows—sunlight and water droplets
• Reflections—still lake and mountain range

Water sculpts our landscapes. If you think the Grand Canyon is stunning, thank water.

Water can be music to our ears — rain, surf, brooks.

Location affects water’s usefulness. Fortunately for all living creatures nature provides a never ending free distribution system.

Ninety-seven percent of the Earth’s water is in the oceans. It’s too salty for land animals to drink. No problem.

Solar energy heats the ocean’s waters and the warmest surface water evaporates. Liquid turns to vapor and the water molecules leave the salt molecules behind. Salt water magically converts to fresh water. It’s a planet-sized distillery.

Weather systems, resulting from solar energy and pressure differences, move the water vapor over land masses. Cooler temperatures cause the vapor to condense and become too heavy to remain suspended. Rain happens.

When the rain falls on land it ends up in the soil, rivers, streams, aquifers, lakes, and ponds. Some of it freezes and ends up as ice or snow. Snow is a water storage system. It holds the water in winter when plants can’t use it and slowly releases it during the spring and summer.

Evaporation allows water to run uphill, from sea level to the top of Mount Everest and every elevation in between.

An eternal solar-powered conveyer belt delivers fresh water throughout the planet, although not uniformly. That’s why deserts and rain forests can both exist.

Water is the most recycled, renewable, sustainable, resource there is and it all happens naturally and endlessly. In your next sip of it you’ll taste the same molecules a tyrannosaurus did.Savor every drop you drink or that rains on our world.

Our Costliest Hysteria

How could we let this happen?

Never in its 231-year history has our entire country been shut down. You would think that COVID-19 must be the greatest threat we’ve ever faced. You would think that there must be overwhelming justification for such unprecedented action.

Of course, if you thought that you would be mistaken.

The whole country has been abruptly derailed with absolutely no debate and with no clear end in sight. Doubters and skeptics have been shamed into silence. Expressing any doubt shows you are a cold, heartless person who couldn’t care less about anyone dying.

We have casually taken leave of our most fundamental principles. The First Amendment has never been so ignored. Public officials are enforcing laws that do not exist. Politicians are arrogantly making Solomon-like decisions about which jobs are essential and which aren’t.

We’ve been breathlessly advised that we absolutely have to “flatten the curve,” the only justification being to avoid overwhelming hospitals with an unmanageable upsurge of virus patients. That upsurge has not materialized.

This pandemic in no way represents the worst threat the country’s ever faced. It’s not worse than the War of 1812, the Civil War, the 1918 flu epidemic, tuberculosis, or the polio epidemic. The last was particularly tragic because it primarily afflicted children.

COVID-19 is highly correlated with age, overwhelmingly impacting the elderly.

But the reaction to the pandemic hysteria has been the greatest one-size-fits-all error in history: treating all age groups the same.

To have the same policies and recommendations for all age groups is insane. Stopping virtually the entire population from working, and from living their lives, has been an error we will long regret.

People under age 50 with no underlying health problems, such as asthma, diabetes, or hypertension, should stop worrying about ending up in intensive care or dead. For them the probability of those outcomes is infinitesimal. Their probability of dying in a vehicle accident this year is much greater than dying from COVID-19.

Those under 50 should stop worrying about social distancing from one other. Nevertheless, it’s possible they are contagious without knowing it, so they should still keep their distance from the elderly.

The strongest country in the world has been stopped in its tracks by half-baked theories and by policies based on “worst-case scenarios.” We have placed far too much faith in “models” and “experts.” We should know better. How many times do we need to see that any “model” of a complex situation will lead us into a costly failure? Will we ever wise up?

It’s sad to watch how easy it’s been to create so much fear of this threat in so many people, especially in light of how low the probabilities actually are. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “Events are in the saddle and ride mankind.” That’s still true, but we should now add that fear is also riding mankind. ____________________

Why all these dismal Democrat offerings?

The Democrats’ nomination saga has been pathetic. You may have detected a pattern developing over the many months. In the beginning there were more Democrat presidential candidates than anyone could keep track of. You couldn’t tell the players without a program. They had an embarrassment of riches and were nothing if not diverse — black, brown, white, Asian, male, female, gay, straight. They included both the oldest and youngest presidential candidates in U.S. history. What could possibly go wrong?

Predictably, excitement about each new candidate spiked. Then, inexorably, as their ranks dwindled, hope evaporated. One after another, as more was learned about the candidates, enthusiasm petered out. Now, with bodies of candidates strewn over the battlefield, the lineup’s initial diversity is history.

One by one they have been exposed as empty suits — no real accomplishments, no charisma, no likability.

Even the candidates still in the race have suffered from vetting. To know them is not to love them. They are a pitiful collection of losers.

The 24-hour news cycle pretends the battle still matters. The media have to promote as much drama and suspense as possible. As usual they behave more like fight promoters than reporters.

But no one in the remaining bevy of candidates has a prayer of defeating Donald Trump. Which of them “wins” the nomination makes not the slightest bit of difference. It’s just a question of which one ends up in Trump’s wood chipper.

How many times do the pundits have to be wrong about some loser being a winner? In their monomaniacal quest to unseat Trump, the Democrats have stooped to propping up dead donkeys. Ironically, their monomania is rational. For them the specter of another Trump term is even more horrific than catastrophic climate change. One term has already fried their brains, and another will drive them over the edge, just like Thelma and Louise.

To make matters worse, the Democrats’ monomania has prevented them from promoting what their party stands for. Like nature, politics abhors a vacuum. Into that vacuum have entered people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders. The Democrat Party has become pathologically socialist by default.

Meanwhile, the plethora of candidates and debates has befuddled the Democrats. Each successive debate gets uglier. So many debates cause overexposure. The rules about which candidates are eligible change arbitrarily. Democrats are known for falling in and out of love almost instantaneously. They have the attention spans of pubescent Valley girls.

After most of the debates even the mainstream media say that Trump was the real winner. If he wins without even being there, what’s going to happen when he’s there?

Democrats Are Dying From Exposure And so are their chances in November.

The Democrat Party has turned hard left. By doing so, the party has unintentionally exposed itself. Ambiguity and obfuscation are the Democrats’ stock in trade. They distort words, and they abuse the English language. They use words and phrases that sound good but are impossible to define — for example, environmental justice, intergenerational justice, climate change, and sustainability.

Such deception is crucial for the party’s survival. But the deception has become harder to sustain.

More than anyone else, Donald Trump is responsible for exposing the Democrats. They detest him and his achievements so much that their judgment has been annihilated. With new clarity, their reactions say far more about themselves than him. He is causing them to take leave of their sanity.

They hate Trump so much that they can’t celebrate his accomplishments. They even demeaned the killing of an evil and savage terrorist, Qassem Soleimani. But their insane hatred has put them in a bind.

Donald Trump has set up camp inside their brains. They should not have let him do that. They will live to regret it.

The phrase “driven to distraction” applies to what’s happening to the Democrats. “Distraction” is defined variously as lack of concentration, confusion, extreme mental or emotional disturbance, frenzy, and madness.

Donald Trump distracts the Democrats from concealing what they are. That makes him a threat to everything they hold dear. His spirit alone scares the hell out of them. He’s the greatest menace they have ever faced.

One revealing jolt to what’s left of the Democrats’ masquerade occurred at the recent Golden Globe awards ceremonies. The emcee, comedian Ricky Gervais, told the attendees, in no uncertain terms, what an out-of-touch, self-important bunch of phonies they all are. He told them, “You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world.”

Gervais was only stating the obvious. It was an “emperor’s new clothes” moment if there ever was one.

Gervais’s observations were both brilliant and simple. They were so obviously true they were impossible to deny. He let the puffed-up Hollywood elites have it right between the eyes. Someone suggested recently that it may be comedians who rescue our culture.

Trump Derangement Syndrome has ensnared the Democrats. Even their misbegotten impeachment fiasco has morphed into one big exposé of themselves. All such frantic attempts to drive Donald Trump from office have only made him more popular. They are making fools of themselves, for all the world to see.

Who, upon seeing the Democrats clearly for what they are, can still support them?
